neno today unveiled Smart Receipt Processing, a groundbreaking new feature that uses advanced computer vision and natural language processing to automatically extract, categorize, and record expense data from receipts and invoices. The feature eliminates manual data entry for business expenses, allowing users to simply snap a photo of any receipt and let neno's AI handle the rest.

Smart Receipt Processing represents a significant advancement in expense management technology. The system can process receipts in any language, handle various formats from handwritten notes to printed invoices, and automatically extract key information including merchant name, date, amount, tax, and line items. neno's AI then categorizes the expense based on the merchant type and line item descriptions, matches it to existing transactions if applicable, and updates financial records in real-time. The entire process takes less than three seconds per receipt.

"We've all been there—drowning in a pile of receipts at month-end, trying to remember what each expense was for and manually entering them into our accounting system," said David Park, CTO and co-founder of neno. "Smart Receipt Processing eliminates that nightmare entirely. Our computer vision models are trained on millions of receipts and achieve 98% accuracy in data extraction, which is actually better than human data entry. And for that remaining 2%, our AI flags items for quick human review."

The feature includes several innovative capabilities that set it apart from traditional receipt scanning tools. Smart Receipt Processing can split receipts when multiple expense categories are present on a single receipt, automatically detects and warns about duplicate expenses, and learns from user corrections to improve accuracy over time. The system also integrates with neno's mileage tracking feature, allowing users to capture both receipt-based and distance-based expenses in one unified workflow.

Smart Receipt Processing is available now to all neno customers across all subscription tiers, with unlimited receipt processing included at no additional cost. The feature works on iOS and Android mobile apps, desktop web browsers, and can even process receipts forwarded via email. neno has also released a Chrome extension that allows users to capture digital receipts directly from their browser while shopping online.
