How long does incorporation take?
Standard: 20 working days. Fast: 7 working days. Urgent: 3 working days. The clock starts once you've submitted your details and completed identity verification.
Do I need to visit a notary in person?
No. Identity verification happens via a short video call. You won't need to visit a notary office.
What's included in the price?
Everything: notarial deed of incorporation (including articles of association), shareholder register, KVK registration, digital company extract, and UBO register filing. The KVK invoices a separate €82.25 registration fee directly to your BV.
Is there a minimum starting capital?
Since 2012, there's no €18,000 requirement. You can incorporate with as little as €0.01. We default to €1.20 (120 shares of €0.01) for flexibility if you later want to issue or transfer shares.
Can I register my BV at an address other than my home?
The initial registration must use your residential address. After incorporation, you can change the address at the KVK for free.
Do I need to register with the KVK myself?
No. We handle the Chamber of Commerce registration. You'll receive your KVK number and digital extract once the BV is incorporated.
Can I incorporate multiple BVs at once?
Yes. You can incorporate a holding and an operating company (werkmaatschappij) together, or multiple BVs simultaneously.
Are the incorporation costs tax-deductible?
Yes. Costs incurred to establish a business—including incorporation fees—are deductible as startup expenses.
What is identity verification (legalisatie)?
A legal requirement under Dutch anti-money laundering law (Wwft). The notary verifies your identity via video call using your passport or ID card. Takes a few minutes.
Can I incorporate a BV without a notary?
No. Dutch law requires a notary to execute the deed of incorporation. We handle the notary relationship—you don't need to find or contact one yourself.
